Ms. Shon DuncanAn Original Hoosier, I graduated from the University of Evansville, moved to Florida, and began teaching at Creek during the 2006-2007 school year as a Pre-IB Inquiry Skills/Government teacher. In 2011, I began teaching AP European History for the Pre-IB sophomores. I have served as an SGA sponsor for six years, and organized two proms. My love affair with world travel began as a sophomore in college when I spent a semester in Grantham, England (Lincolnshire) studying and traveling. That unique experience has led me to advocate international traveling to my own students.
In June of 2012, I led my first EF Tour to Rome/Florence/Paris. What an amazing experience it was to see young students become young men and women world travelers! We visited museums, historical sites, had the "light bulb" come on when finally something from class connected with the real world, tried new and different foods, experienced a culture that differed from our own, and shopped literally until we dropped in Paris! The travelers were amazing as not one of them whined or complained even though sore feet and 100 degree temps gave them every right to do so. 2013 England Scotland was wonderful, and Paris, Barcelona, Madrid 2014 was a trip to remember with the changing of Spanish Monarch and the World Cup. I'm looking forward to the next trip already! |
